My stay at The Lodge At Leathem Smith was a bit disappointing. The location was picturesque, but the accommodations felt outdated and the cleanliness left much to be desired. The staff was friendly enough, but I faced various issues during my stay that really took away from the experience.

Rooms
5.0
The size of my room was decent, though it had peculiarities like a confusing shower system and a poorly functioning coffee maker. I noticed stains on the rug and dirt under the furniture, indicating a lack of deep cleaning. The bed was somewhat comfortable, but overall, the room felt neglected.
Service
5.0
The staff members were always warm and friendly, making an effort to help when I had issues. However, the responses sometimes felt slow or lacking in empathy, especially when I encountered water leaking from the ceiling in my room.
Location
6.0
The Lodge is in a beautiful area of Door County, ideal for exploring scenic attractions. However, the outdated nature of the facilities didn't quite match the charm of the location.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was mediocre at best. The made-to-order omelets during breakfast were a highlight, but other meals lacked seasoning and creativity. The choices felt limited overall, leading me to seek out other dining options.
Facilities
5.0
Common areas like the lounge were cozy, but the overall maintenance of the hotel was lacking. I noticed areas that needed repair and cleaning, from broken fixtures to dirty furniture.

6.6/10

My stay at The Lodge At Leathem Smith was a mixed bag. I appreciated the spacious room and friendly staff, but the overall experience felt overpriced for what was offered. The restaurant left much to be desired, and the maintenance issues were hard to ignore.

Rooms
6.0
The room was adequately sized with some appealing woodgrain furnishings, though it felt a bit dated and the shower controls were perplexing. Despite being reasonably clean, there were noticeable stains on the carpet and limited electrical outlets, which made charging devices a hassle.
Service
7.0
Staff were consistently pleasant and helpful, especially the omelet chef at breakfast who had a great sense of humor. However, there were some shortcomings in housekeeping, as not all needs seemed addressed during my stay.
Location
6.0
The Lodge is conveniently located for exploring Sturgeon Bay and nearby attractions. However, I found the views from the balconies lacking, as they mostly faced the parking lot rather than any scenic areas.
Dining
5.0
While the breakfast omelet station was a highlight, the dining experience overall was underwhelming. The restaurant's menu lacked flavor in some dishes, and the salad bar was disappointingly small. I expected more variety and quality for the price.
Facilities
5.0
Common areas were cozy and inviting, particularly the fireplace seating. However, there were maintenance issues, like unkempt outdoor spaces, that detracted from the overall charm of the lodge.

I had an lovely stay at The Lodge At Leathem Smith for my 30th wedding anniversary. The welcoming staff surprised me with a bottle of wine in our room, which was a lovely touch. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner at Kona Bay Fish House and an impressive omelet breakfast the next morning. However, I did notice that the rooms could use some updating, as they felt a bit dated and worn.

Rooms
6.0
The room was comfortable but quite dated, needing some renovations. The bed was okay, but the atmosphere felt musty.
Service
9.0
The staff, especially Cindy at the front desk and bartender Laurie, were fantastic and made me feel welcomed.
Location

I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant offerings, particularly the lasagna and omelet station at breakfast. Both were delicious and well-prepared.

While the common areas were comfortable, the overall facilities felt a bit outdated and could benefit from renovations.

My stay at The Lodge At Leathem Smith was a mixed bag. While the views were lovely and the location was convenient for accessing downtown Sturgeon Bay, the hotel felt outdated and in need of some serious care. The breakfast offerings were also disappointing, but the comfort of the room made it somewhat bearable.

Rooms
5.0
I found the room spacious, but the decor felt tired and it had an odd smell. While the bed was comfortable, the carpet was uninviting, making me want to keep my shoes on.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and eager to help, even if they were not around all the time due to the small size of the hotel. The bartender was particularly engaging, which added a nice touch to the overall experience.
Location
8.0
The Lodge is located conveniently close to downtown, making it easy to explore local attractions. I appreciated the pleasant atmosphere, especially being near the waterfront.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast had potential with its made-to-order omelets, but it fell short overall. I was disappointed to find limited options and that they ran out of food early.
Facilities
5.0
While the common areas had a cozy feel, the facility overall seemed to be in disrepair with worn furnishings. It’s evident that the hotel needs some updates to improve the guest experience.

The Captain Suite was wonderful with a kitchenette and fireplace, creating a cozy atmosphere. However, another room had cleanliness issues like a stale smell and dirt in the shower, which was disappointing.
Service
8.0
I found the staff to be very attentive and eager to help, making my stay enjoyable, which was a highlight for me. Nonetheless, the overwhelmed restaurant staff during breakfast showed some need for improvement.
Location

The Lodge's location was convenient, next to the bridge and close to attractions. I enjoyed the scenic views, especially with snow falling by the lake, enhancing the experience.
Dining
9.0
Breakfast was a definite highlight with a made-to-order omelet station and plenty of delicious options. The meals at the on-site bar also received high marks for their generous portions!
Facilities

The common areas were inviting and well-arranged for social interaction, but some facilities, like the pool, could use better maintenance, as I noticed some dirt.
